How Far Along? 38 Weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 26 lbs 

Stretch Marks: Nope

Labor Signs: I was back in the hospital Saturday night thinking I was in labor. My contractions were about 5 mins apart and VERY intense. I threw up a few times and overall it felt exactly like when I was in labor with Avelyn. When they checked my cervix it had not changed and was still 1 cm, 50% effaced with Isla at -2 station. The dr. told me I have what's called "prodromal labor" which basically is everything that goes with real labor except you don't dilate or efface. 

I've read a little about it since that and other than being basically The Devil it usually lasts for a few hours. Mine lasts for at least 24 hours each time. It is the single most frustrating thing in the world because it's making me not trust my body to deliver this baby. I'm totally fine with the vomiting, cramping, contractions etc as long as I get a baby in the end...but to do it for "no reason" and my "uterus just like to contract"..makes me so irritated.

Movement: Less movement but plenty of hiccups. It must be pretty cramped in there!

Food Cravings: Chocolate. I have been pretty nauseous again for the past week. 

Anything Make you Queasy or Sick? Contractions lasting for hours and hours make me nauseous.

Gender: Girl!

Belly Button In/Out: Out

Wedding Rings On/Off: On

Happy or Moody: More mood swings this week. It's been such an emotional roller coaster.

OBGYN Appt: I went in this morning for my 38 week appt. While I was in the hospital on Saturday I was having extended high blood pressure. I think the highest reading was 168/104. They kept me in the hospital until it leveled out and then sent a bunch of blood and urine work. I just got the results of the 24 hour urine and it was normal but still waiting for all the blood results. I expect it to come back normal as well. I think the only reason it was so high was because I was in so much pain with the contractions.

I started having contractions again on the way to the dr this morning. After my appt, they hooked me up to the NST (monitors) which showed me contracting every 5 mins. 

They told me this could be the beginning of real labor and that I likely wouldn't make it another week before delivering. I wish I could believe that but the Prodromal Labor has put me through the ringer and I half expect to be pregnant forever. 

I'm still having contractions and they are more and more intense lasting over a minute and probably about 2.5 mins apart. My instructions were to go back when they were unbearably painful. I am not to that point yet so we will see what happens. For now I am just trying to keep myself distracted.
